What makes one headstone cost more than another?

• Volume of stone. Larger tablets, thicker slabs and extended bases use more granite.
• Shape and sculpture. Hand-sculpted angels, roses and custom silhouettes take many more hours than a polished tablet.
• Color. Some granites are scarcer or harder to finish evenly than others.
• Artwork and portraits. Laser-etched portraits, ceramic photos and multi-panel artwork add design and production time.
• Number of names. Companion and family memorials need more surface and layout work.

What is not included in the displayed price?

Our displayed prices cover the eligible memorial product. They exclude taxes, cemetery and permit fees, foundation work, installation, additional delivery, Monument Service Group services, provider fees and other third-party charges. Complimentary delivery may apply to eligible made-to-order products within the 48 contiguous states when it is confirmed in the written terms; Alaska and Hawaii are quoted separately. Installation is quoted only after the cemetery, ZIP code, plot, product, access, permit, foundation, provider, price and schedule are confirmed in writing — see our installation guide.

How do payment programs lower the price?

One base program applies per order, calculated only on the eligible product subtotal:

• Pay in full: 25% (through December 31, 2026).
• 3-month plan: 17.5%. 6-month plan: 15%.
• Long-term plans of 12, 18, 24, 30 or 36 months, where eligible Veterans (10%) and First Responders (5%) programs can apply after verification.
• Early Payoff: 20% on the remaining unpaid eligible balance of an eligible internal plan, with Finance confirmation.

A verified self-guided Smart Showroom visit at an enabled customer-facing location can add a 10% reduction, applied after the base program. For example, a $10,000 eligible subtotal with the 25% program becomes $7,500, and the Smart Showroom 10% then brings it to $6,750 — a combined 32.5%, not 35%. When is payment due and what if we cancel?

Production starts only after the payment milestone, cemetery approval where required, final design approval, complete order information and the signed contract. Under our published terms, cancellation within 3 days carries a 10% charge; from day 3 to day 30, 30% if production has not begun; and no refund is available once production begins. Please read the customer service information before signing.

Does the Funeral Rule cover headstone prices?

The Federal Trade Commission’s Funeral Rule requires funeral providers to give itemized price information. It generally does not apply to monument dealers or cemeteries that do not sell funeral services. That makes it even more important to get an itemized written quote — which we provide for every order.
